Regional Clerk launches call to citizens in the Münsterland region

At the beginning of March, regional writer Charlotte Krafft began her literary journey through Münsterland. But first she was troubled by pneumonia, then her accommodation, the artists' village of Schöppingen, had to close its doors because of the Corona virus. Now the writer from her home in Berlin is turning to the people of Münsterland with an appeal:

"I call on you to share with me what might help me to get to know Münsterland and the Münsterlanders. This means, on the one hand: interesting ideas, fears, visions and hopes regarding the future of Münsterland - especially its traditions, customs, cultural and natural monuments. And on the other: Anything that gives me an insight that I couldn't get myself at the moment," says Krafft.

Anyone who would like to share his or her thoughts with the regional writer can send her a message at schreiberin@muensterland.com.

Charlotte Krafft was selected in the second edition of the state-wide literature project "stadt.land.text NRW" to track down stories and put the region into literary words. Her scholarship lasts from March to June - virtually and, as soon as possible, in person again in Münsterland. She has a soft spot for science fiction, horror and fantasy and is looking for futuristic places as well as traditions of the region under the title "Future Fresco".

Her texts, including classified ads from the future, appear on the stadt.land.text blog at www.stadt-land-text.de/blogs.

"Perhaps the Easter holidays will inspire citizens to tell Charlotte Krafft something about local traditions and customs," says Simone Schiffer from the Münsterland Cultural Office. "There are no limits to the imagination."

About the project:

The project stadt.land.text NRW goes back to an idea of the cultural region Aachen, which tested the format and implemented it for the first time in 2017 for the ten cultural regions in North Rhine-Westphalia - Aachen, Bergisches Land, Hellweg, Münsterland, Niederrhein, Ostwestfalen-Lippe, Rheinschiene, Ruhrgebiet, Sauerland and Südwestfalen. The scholarship holders each receive a scholarship of 7200 euros. The project is funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science.
