Anyone interested in climate protection is in the right place: At the online event "Think globally, act locally - because: Münsterland is climate land" on 22 April, citizens can find out about the launch of the Münsterland-wide climate campaign. The organisers are the Münsterland districts of Borken, Coesfeld, Steinfurt and Warendorf, the City of Münster, Münsterland e.V. and EnergyAgency.NRW. Registration is possible at www.muensterland.com/klimaland.
Climate researcher Professor Mojib Latif will provide exciting input. In a lecture, he will answer questions about the causes and consequences of global climate change: What changes can already be measured today? How will the climate change in the future and how should international climate policy be assessed? Latif is President of the German Society of the Club of Rome, an international association of experts that has been working for a sustainable future since 1972. His latest book is entitled "Heißzeit. Full Throttle into Climate Catastrophe - and How to Step on the Brakes".
In addition, the participants will learn more about the climate campaign and its faces. Because in Münsterland, too, there are innovative projects and committed people who are working for climate protection. In a round table discussion, some of them will give tips for local climate protection: a route by (cargo) bike to the nearest farm shop, writing and printing on recycled paper, civic engagement in climate protection groups or the photovoltaic system on the roof of the house, which also charges the e-car. Small direct surveys among the participants round off the approximately two-hour event.
The evening will be hosted by WDR presenter Jeanette Kuhn. The event will take place digitally via the "Zoom" tool. Registration until 21 April 2021 at www.muensterland.com/klimaland.
