Four days on the road on racing bikes, from Münsterland to the North Sea and back: on Sunday, the 40 participants of the Rennfietsen Tour crossed the finish line at Münster's Prinzipalmarkt. They had cycled 600 kilometres together since Ascension Day - and their efforts paid off: A total of 33,000 euros was raised for children in need.
Tour leader Joachim Wechner was delighted with the perfect racing bike tour: "Beautiful weather, great atmosphere - what more could you want?" He thanked all the donors and praised the sense of community that characterises the tour. "The Rennfietsen family is an incredibly strong team." Jan-Philipp Müller, Head of University Sports at the University of Münster, welcomed the participants at Prinzipalmarkt. Westenergie AG, the main sponsor of the Rennfietsen Tour, provided them with fresh waffles from its mobile bakery.
To mark the 20th anniversary of the Ems Cycle Route, the 15th edition of the 2024 Rennfietsen Tour travelled to Emsland and East Frisia for the first time. The team spent the night in the stage towns of Haselünne, Emden and Rheine, from where they travelled back to Münster on Sunday. Exciting impressions of the tour days in text, pictures and video can be viewed on the official Facebook channel.
Helping children in need and combining sport with social commitment: that's the Rennfietsen Tour. It is organised by the AGAPEDIA and Roter Keil Senden cycling teams in cooperation with Münsterland e.V. All donations now go towards the work of the AGAPEDIA Foundation and the Roter Keil network.
For the team: After the Rennfietsen-Tour is before the Rennfietsen-Tour. The next edition is planned for 29 May to 1 June 2025.
