Service Onboarding@Münsterland calls on locals: "Bring your loved ones back home".

Advent campaign for skilled workers appeals to family and friends

Wouldn't it be nice if all your loved ones were sitting around the table together again not only at Christmas time, but more often in the near future? The Onboarding@Münsterland service supports skilled workers in returning and arriving in Münsterland and now explicitly calls on locals to bring their loved ones back to the region. With a campaign just in time for Advent and Christmas, which is primarily aimed at family and friends of potential returnees. Because these people are the best argument to return. So that the Christmas campaign message is also followed by action: "Where Ho Ho becomes Ho Ho Home again."

"One of the most important motives for skilled workers to come back to Münsterland is their family and friends. And especially at Christmas time, many native Münsterlanders go on a visit home. We help the locals to convince these potential returnees. Because Münsterland has so much more to offer than just its people - an exciting and crisis-proof business location, top employers, a good connection between town and country, lots of space to live, work and live," emphasises Monika Leiking, head of the Onboarding@Münsterland service at Münsterland e.V. The service has compiled these and other reasons to bring back children, friends, grandchildren, nieces or nephews from afar at www.muensterland.com/homecoming and also offers personal counselling sessions to returnees.

At the same time, the service is using other media channels to attract the attention of returnees and their loved ones until the end of the year: radio and billboard advertising, print ads, online marketing measures and a competition on social media. The clear campaign message: "Bring your loved ones back to the region."

"Many skilled workers who have left Münsterland don't even have their home on their radar as a region to work in," says Leiking. "We want to change that with the support of their relatives, who at best tell their loved ones about our offer. Among other things, we advise returnees and other newcomers about Münsterland as a place to work and can introduce them to top employers we have recruited for our employer network Onboarding@Münsterland."

The Christmas campaign is part of the Onboarding@Münsterland service campaign, which has been running since April 2021 and focuses primarily on potential returnees. The central element: individual and personal advice. This has met with a broad response: Since the start of the campaign, the service team has reached skilled workers throughout Germany and has already conducted more than 110 counselling interviews. At the same time, thanks to the employer network that was set up in parallel and currently has around 80 members, the service has good contacts to the companies in the region and connects them with the skilled workers.

With the Christmas campaign, it is now bringing local people on board in addition to employers to jointly advertise Münsterland. Monika Leiking: "The more who are on board, the stronger we can shine as an economic region and make our region a region with a future. With great people, exciting jobs and top employers."
