Cheers to Münsterland: Service Onboarding@Münsterland discovers the Sasse fine distillery with newcomers

Welcome - and cheers! These were the words used to welcome around ten newcomers to the Sasse fine distillery on Thursday evening. In doing so, the Onboarding@Münsterland service of Münsterland e.V. not only welcomed the newcomers to an exciting tour of Sasse's treasure chamber and distillery, it also welcomed them to their new home. "On a blind date with the Münsterland and the chance to exchange ideas with like-minded people," explained Eva Kleingräber from the service team. Around ten newcomers to Münsterland dived into the secrets of producing high-quality spirits that evening and raised their glasses together at the end - whether filled with drinks with or without alcohol.

Among the newcomers was Varvara Leinz, who has lived in Münsterland since 2019 and works in Ahaus. She was delighted with the new impressions of Münsterland she gathered during the event: "A nice evening with nice new acquaintances in the special atmosphere of a distillery steeped in tradition - for me, a new experience and a really successful combination that, with all kinds of tasty treats and even more interesting anecdotes about high-proof drinks, makes me want to discover even more facets of the beautiful Münsterland," said Varvara.

The welcome event is part of the Münsterland-wide Onboarding@Münsterland service: "It is not always easy for employees who are new to a region to make new contacts. We want to change that with our welcome events," said Eva Kleingräber. "In doing so, we bring like-minded people together and discover exciting places in the region with them so that they arrive and also want to stay." Like the Münsterland fine distillery Sasse in Schöppingen on this evening. "Korn is an original Münsterland product," Sarah Grawe from the Sasse team emphasised during the tour. She explained many exciting details about the production of regional products from natural raw materials. The newcomers talked to the distiller about his work at the copper stills, smelled how the aromas of the alcohol unfold in the barrels in the "Reifugium" and tasted one or two specialities together.

The Onboarding@Münsterland service was developed as a regional initiative of employers and economic actors in the Münsterland region and is implemented by Münsterland e.V. with the support of numerous institutions in the region. The service supports employers in employer branding and location marketing as well as skilled workers in arriving, feeling good and staying here in the region. "A decision to take a job is always a decision to choose a place to live," says Monika Leiking, head of the service. The service includes not only events such as the Welcome Event, but also counselling services for skilled workers. Employers can also become members of the network and thus secure a wide range of benefits with which they can become more visible and advertise to skilled workers. "Together with employers, we want to ensure that Münsterland is perceived as an attractive place to work and live, even beyond its borders," explains Leiking. "And this also includes welcoming newcomers to the region in an appreciative manner."
