City tour with delicious surprises: Münsterland newcomers meet like-minded people on the "Rheiner Happen Tour".

MÜNSTERLAND/RHEINE. With all their senses, 16 Münsterland newcomers explored the city centre of Rheine on Wednesday evening, 3 May 2023. During a culinary city walk through the Emsstadt, like-minded people who had recently moved to Münsterland got to know each other. In addition to exciting facts about the history of the old town, there were plenty of small delicacies from Rhein's restaurateurs. The Onboarding@Münsterland service of Münsterland e.V., which welcomes newcomers and returnees to the region, had invited them.

Rheine is the second largest city in the Münsterland region after Münster and, with its wide range of shopping facilities, cultural offerings and businesses, it is a nice place to live, live and work. "In everyday professional life, it is not at all easy for newcomers to meet new people alongside colleagues. The welcome events offer the opportunity to make contacts informally," says Paulina Wittich, project manager of the Onboarding@Münsterland service at Münsterland e.V.

After the city tour, the newcomers went to the Roter Hirsch brewery for a cosy evening. Participant Verena is enthusiastic about the relaxed atmosphere of the evening: "It was a harmonious group in which I could have great conversations - a successful event with very tasty food!" The 34-year-old is a native of Rheine, lived in Frankfurt for 14 years and now lives in Neuenkirchen.
