MÜNSTERLAND. It's back - after a year's break due to corona, the RennFietsen Tour will be back at the start from 13 to 16 May 2021 and will be collecting money for children in need in its 12th edition. From now on, interested racing cyclists can register at www.rennfietsentour.de and look for sponsors who will donate per kilometre ridden. But if you want to take part, you have to be quick: Places will be allocated on a 'first come first serve' basis.
In order for the tour to take place, there is a changed and corona-compliant concept this year. Until now, about 40 participants had travelled as a fixed group for several days across the Münsterland. This year, the tour is divided into four day tours for which participants can register individually. A maximum of four small groups of ten participants per day will cycle through the region. The starting point and destination remain the same on each day.
"With this concept, we are confident that the tour can take place as planned," says tour leader Joachim Wechner. "And the programme is definitely sporty: we cover 150 kilometres per day."
100 percent of the money raised will go to the two aid organisations Stiftung AGAPEDIA and roterkeil.net. The tour is organised by the cycling teams AGAPEDIA Münsterland and Roter Keil Senden in cooperation with Münsterland e.V. innogy SE is also the main sponsor of the 12th edition of the tour.
