Through the Münsterland horse region by mobile phone: Münsterland e.V. breaks new ground in marketing with Insta-Ride

Instagrammers and video bloggers on the move around Legden

MÜNSTERLAND/LEGDEN. Some people may still be familiar with an Instawalk - but not so much with an Insta-Ride. Ten influencers were out and about in the region around Legden last Friday at the invitation of Münsterland e.V. - and not on foot, but on horseback. On a four-hour trail ride organised by Elke Waning's Centre for Leisure Riding, the participants enthusiastically photographed and filmed from horseback and posted the footage on their Instagram channels.

With the first Insta-Ride in the region, the regional management organisation Münsterland e.V. is breaking new ground. "We are always looking for creative formats to market the region to different target groups. And especially when it comes to horses, there is a very active online community that is well networked with each other. We wanted to pick them up," says Marion Pleie, Project Manager Horse at Münsterland e.V..

And there was a lot on offer: on Irish Tinkers, Quarter Horses and Haflingers, the group took to the saddle at the Centre for Leisure Riding in Legden and set off through the Münsterland park landscape. The group rode relaxed across meadows, fields and through small woods and trotted on their comfortable horses along well-maintained riding routes, some of which were part of the 1000-kilometre Münsterland riding route. A picnic break with regional products of the Münsterland seal and a campfire rounded off the excursion.

The riders included riders of very different skill levels - from experienced competition riders to advanced beginners. "All in all, the influencers have a reach of around 130,000 followers" explained Victoria Lennerz, Social Media Manager at Münsterland e.V. "We hope that the positive reports of the Instagrammers in the social media will make as many people as possible curious about the Münsterland and make them want to go on day trips and multi-day trips with the horse. Autumn in particular is one of the most beautiful seasons for this."

The enthusiasm of the participants was obvious in any case: "What can I say, it was just mega cool and I fell a little bit in love with my extremely calm companion Imagine," wrote Lisa-Sophie Daut from "lisasvlogs" on her Instagram account, for example, and unreservedly recommended the Münsterland and not only Imagine but also the other horses of the Centre for Leisure Riding. The participants from @igersmuensterland, @faxenfux_, @rimondo_com, @oldenbeasts, @kama.sway, @linzimda, @boardshortslife, @anna_feinesreiten and @wochenblatt_com also visibly enjoyed the excursion into the leisure and trail riding scene. Münsterland e.V. itself accompanied the Insta-Ride via its channel @muensterland.dasguteleben.

The fact that end-customer marketing is enormously important, especially in times of Corona, was underlined by Marion Pleie: "Horse businesses are suffering a lot in these difficult times. Because especially for the most important employees - the horses - there was no financial support. In this respect, we are trying to help the businesses with various campaigns, to generate new customers and to show how much fun a ride through the beautiful Münsterland can be."
