On Wednesday evening, the summer party under the motto "Typically NRW" took place at the NRW State Representation in Berlin. Around 1,500 guests from politics, business and the media came together to exchange views on current topics and developments in North Rhine-Westphalia. Also present was Münsterland e.V. as one of the nine regional development organisations of the association regionen.NRW.
In his welcoming speech, Minister President Hendrik Wüst emphasised: "Especially in these difficult times, it is important to stay in dialogue with each other. There is no shortage of big challenges like making the climate-neutral transformation competitive. Sometimes it is better to talk to each other informally than according to protocol. Here, it is all the better to respectfully see each other's problems first and then sit down at the table. That is the purpose of this evening".
The guests discussed current topics as well as exciting innovations and tasted typical regional food and drinks. There was also NRW's diversity to taste at the NRW regions' stand, with gins and cocktails from special local producers and manufacturers from the nine regions. A colourful programme, including the band "Brass Appeal", rounded off the evening.
"It makes sense for the Münsterland to take part in order to stay in touch with its partners, exchange ideas and get to know new things. Together in a network we show how strength can be gained from our diversity. This cohesion enables us to make our common interests clear," explains Michael Kösters, General Representative of Münsterland e.V..
To position ourselves together vis-à-vis the state government - that is the idea behind the joint appearance of the nine regions with the title "regionen.NRW". The association has been in existence since 2013 and comprises the Zukunftsagentur Rheinisches Revier as well as the nine regional management organisations Region Aachen - Zweckverband, Bergische Struktur- und Wirtschaftsförderungsgesellschaft mbH, Regionalmanagement Düsseldorf/Kreis Mettmann, Region Köln/Bonn e.V., Münsterland e.V., Standort Niederrhein GmbH, OstWestfalenLippe GmbH, Regionalverband Ruhr and Südwestfalen Agentur GmbH.
