Who's Who research cooperation links companies with universities

Database with over 300 professors from the Münsterland region.

When companies and universities work together, exciting innovations can emerge - but first they have to get to know each other. The Who is Who Research Cooperation helps with this. In this constantly updated database, companies can find contact persons from the regional research landscape and can thus start their development project together with them. To coincide with the start of the semester, the database has been expanded with profiles of new professors.

"In Who is Who, interested parties can not only search for a keyword, but also have the results displayed according to industry expertise, subject area or university. You will be surprised how many innovation experts are to be found in Münsterland," emphasises Bernd Büdding, head of the "Enabling Networks Münsterland" project at Münsterland e.V..

The Who's Who Research Cooperation is available at www.msl-forschungskooperation.de and is an initiative of Münsterland e.V., the business development agencies of the districts and the transfer agencies in the region. It was created within the project "Enabling Innovation Münsterland". The follow-up project "Enabling Networks Münsterland" now focuses on concrete networking.

Currently, 309 professors are listed there with contact details and research foci. New additions include the transport expert Prof. Dr. Jeanette Klemmer from the Department of Civil Engineering at Münster University of Applied Sciences and Prof. Dr. Michael Schäferling, who teaches and researches photonic materials at Münster University of Applied Sciences.

The following research institutions are represented in the database: the Westphalian Wilhelms University of Münster, the Münster University of Applied Sciences, the Westphalian University of Applied Sciences Bocholt site, the Helmholtz Institute Münster, the Fraunhofer Institute for Molecular Biology and Applied Ecology IME, the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Biomedicine, Infa - Institute for Waste, Wastewater and Infrastructure Management and various industry networks. The fields of expertise range from "wastewater management" to "cell biology".

There are already numerous successful examples of cooperation between business and science. A selection of these are shown in videos linked at www.msl-forschungskooperation.de.
