The extremely rich cultural scene and an extraordinary gastronomic variety leave nothing to be desired.

Discover exciting districts such as the harbour, relax on the shores of Lake Aasee or let yourself be surprised by the splendour of the flowers in the Botanical Garden.

Münster - Ascheberg (approx. 54 km)

On the trail of the famous architect Johann Conrad Schlaun, you will experience Münster's sights, including the Erbdrostenhof, Münster Castle and Prinzipalmarkt. Your cycle tour then takes you in a southerly direction. Again and again you will stop at castles and manor houses, such as Drostenhof Wolbeck or Haus Borg, and admire the magnificent buildings. On the edge of the Davert nature reserve you will reach the small town of Davensberg with its picturesque houses. Here you will also find Davensberg Castle, the gateway to the Davert. After an eventful day, your hotel in Ascheberg awaits you.

Day 3

Ascheberg - Werne (approx. 36 km)

Today is a relatively short stage on your programme, but there is a lot to experience. After you have explored the surroundings of Ascheberg, the 100 Castles Route takes you to Drensteinfurt with the Steinfurt House. Slowly but surely you will approach the beautiful Westerwinkel Castle. The moated castle is romantically embedded in the picturesque landscape. Your route continues through the park landscape of Münsterland to your destination Werne. The heart of the town on the river Lippe is the historic market square with its pretty houses. You can round off the day with a stroll through the town or a visit to the brine bath.

Day 4

Nordkirchen Castle in Nordkirchen Nordkirchen Castle in Nordkirchen

Werne - Lüdinghausen (approx. 38 km)

After your departure from Werne, you will visit two absolute highlights of this tour: Nordkirchen Castle is rightly called the "Versailles of Westphalia". The huge park alone is worth a visit. A walk around the grounds reveals the dimensions of this incomparable architectural monument. The tour then takes you via Selm to Lüdinghausen. The second highlight of the day is Vischering Castle. The outer and main castles are surrounded by fortified walls. Take your time and visit the excellent Münsterland Museum in the castle. Lüdinghausen Castle is close by on foot or by bike.

Day 5

Vischering Castle in Lüdinghausen Vischering Castle in Lüdinghausen

Lüdinghausen - Billerbeck (approx. 50 km)

If you didn't visit Vischering Castle yesterday, you should definitely do so today. You leave Lüdinghausen in a northerly direction and keep coming across castles and fortresses along the way, such as the exciting Senden Castle and the houses of Groß Schonebeck and Klein Schonebeck. Through the hilly landscape of the Baumberge, you will reach the old town of Nottuln and the beautiful town of Billerbeck. You will be compensated for the metres in altitude with wonderful views. The Kolvenburg in Billerbeck is definitely worth a visit before you go to your hotel.

Day 6

Hülshoff Castle in Hvixbeck Hülshoff Castle in Hvixbeck

Billerbeck - Münster (approx. 37 km)

On your last day, the 100 Castles Route picks up speed once again. In Havixbeck, another highlight is the Hülshoff Castle. Discover the traces of the famous poet Annette von Droste-Hülshoff in the "Center for Literature". A walk through the extensive park is particularly beautiful. The castle always offers new perspectives. Only a few kilometres further on, on the outskirts of Münster, you will come across the magnificent Haus Rüschhaus grounds. The small garden stylishly frames the manor house. Now it is not far to the starting and end point of your journey.
