Historic town centres in the Tecklenburg region

Start your stay in Münsterland with a bike tour from Tecklenburg to Lienen and Lengerich. Take in the picturesque landscape and discover the sights of the towns. In Tecklenburg you can visit the historic old town, the moated castle Haus Marck, Torhaus Legge, Schlossbastion Tecklenburg, Schiefe Haus or the castle ruins with the Wierturm. In Lienen, the barefoot park and Malepartus forestry await you. In Lengerich you could make a detour to the Canyon or Haus Vortlage.

On the second day, too, there are more historic village centres and beautiful half-timbered buildings as well as other sights to see. In Saerbeck, a visit to the corn distillery museum, local history museum "Alte Dorfschule" (old village school), St. George's parish church and the Sinninger mill is recommended. Ladbergen is also worth more than one look. In the centre of the village there are half-timbered houses and squares shaded by large trees with inviting beer gardens. A very nice photo motif is the old water mill in the centre of Ladbergen.

If at all possible, the terrain becomes increasingly flat. A real treat for cyclists, even for cycling novices. The cycle paths lead you through the wide landscape of the western Münsterland to Borken. In Borken, Gemen Castle awaits you, one of the most unusual castles in the region. As your tour continues, you follow the Bocholter Aa to the starting point in Velen. In Ramsdorf, the museum in the castle provides an overview of the history of the region. On the way back to Velen, meadows and fields dominate the landscape, occasionally interrupted by well-kept farmsteads.
