From the historic market square in Bocholt, the route takes you along the Bocholter Aa towards Isselburg. After an extensive break at the Issel, you cycle out of town and after a short time reach the biotope Wildpark Anholter Schweiz. The park is a mini copy of Lake Lucerne and is a nice change of pace on the bike tour, especially for families. From the wildlife park it is not far to Anholt Castle. The imposing structure lies in the middle of a spacious park. A visit to the outside and a tour of the beautifully landscaped park is possible at any time. A tour of the interior of the moated castle can only be offered as part of a booked guided tour. From Anholt moated castle, the route now takes you along the Dutch border back to Bocholt. Before you reach the city centre of Bocholt again, you first cycle through the city forest. This is a good place for families to take a break. The numerous animal enclosures are home to a wide variety of species and provide plenty of variety on the cycle tour. Once you have arrived at the market square in Bocholt, it is always a good idea to visit one of the many restaurants and take stock of the beautiful day.
