When the funfair season begins in Bocholt, the whole town celebrates. Perhaps the most popular folk festival in the western Münsterland is a very special crowd puller. But the other events are also very popular. Concerts by international stars, markets at different times of the year, culture days, Christmas market, pub and music festivals,... the calendar of events could go on and on. The best thing is to experience it for yourself.

When the disco ball casts its dazzling lights on ecstatic dancers and the music is turned up to the max, it can only mean one thing: It's time to disco! The exhibition at the LWL-Museum Textilwerk illuminates disco as a place of the night world, emotion, catalyst, inspiration, business model and scene. Visitors to the exhibition are whisked away into a world of glamour and freedom, especially in the heyday of disco, the 1970s. The exhibition invites you to visit the disco and takes a look behind the scenes at the stars, producers, DJs and discotheque owners. It recalls the German and Münsterland discotheque scene. Collaboration with the Rock'n'Pop Museum Gronau awakens memories and provides new input for viewing the scene. Authentic exhibits and interactive elements emphasise the exhibition. Disco greats such as Boney M. and local stars such as DJ John from Bocholt's Club Milano are part of the colourful world of disco.

A guided cycle tour is a wonderful way to explore the region by bike and learn more about its history, culture and beautiful landscape.
The cycle tour crosses the border into the western Münsterland and the Dutch Achterhoek. A local guide provides interesting information and stories about the border town of Bocholt.
The tour with your own bike starts either at the LWL-Museum Textilwerk or at the car park of the sports club TSV Bocholt, Hemdener Weg 163, where participants are given an insight into the history of Bocholt and the development of the textile town.
The route continues by bike along paved cycle paths and quiet lanes, past meadows, fields, farms and churches that reflect the picturesque landscape of the Münsterland.
Beyond the "green border", the Achterhoek border region is explored on Dutch cycle paths, the "Fietspaden". After a break, the group sets off on the return journey.
The cycle tour ends after about five hours and around 50 kilometres at the car park of the LWL-Museum Textilwerk on Uhlandstraße.
Participation is at your own risk. Wearing a cycle helmet is recommended. You should bring your own drinks and snacks.
Registration is required due to the limited number of participants.
Vegetables and fruit fresh from the field, meat products from the region, fragrant baked goods straight from the oven, colourful seasonal flowers and mysterious spices from all over the world. The weekly markets in Münsterland invite you to "open-air shopping" and yet are far more than mere sales places. This is where locals and visitors meet, the latest news is exchanged and there is time for a chat among friends.
