A packed calendar of events is typical for the district town of Borken. A special event is the kick-off event for the Maitremse on the market square. In summer, the "Borken Beach" attracts visitors, and in winter, the large ice skating rink at "Borken Ice" is the place to be. The Pröbstingsee is the "stage" for sporting events and the Vennehof town hall is a convincing venue for cultural events. And at the end of the year, the Christmas markets let the town and its surroundings shine.
If you want to see more events, also from the surrounding area, simply change the radius or expand the search date.

The exhibition presents selected works by members of the German Watercolour Society.
From abstract to hyperreal, from delicate to powerful and wild, the works convey the fascinating spectrum of watercolour painting. The motifs range from atmospheric landscapes, portraits and still lifes to cityscapes and interiors. Let yourself be surprised and inspired!
The DAG/GWS e.V. is committed to making a significant contribution to the promotion of watercolour painting. As a member of the ECWS, European Confederation of Watercolour Societies, the association is also internationally networked. Members exchange ideas at painting meetings, on painting trips at home and abroad or at workshops held by internationally recognised watercolour masters and regularly take part in juried exhibitions in partner countries.
A city lives from the commitment of its citizens. Without the support of volunteers, many institutions, associations and social organisations would only be able to realise some of their projects. The Borken Volunteer Agency has therefore set itself the task of bringing help to where it is needed. As part of our regular weekly consultation hours, we now offer interested citizens the opportunity to obtain information and advice on voluntary work in a personal meeting every Tuesday of the month.
Young and old can spend their time playing at 3ECK during the open games meeting. Everyone is invited to join in - and to find new game partners. Family and connoisseur games - classics and novelties - are available (but you are also welcome to bring your own). Registration required at 3eck@borken.de or 02861 939 665!

On 20 July 2024, "Wine Time" will once again take place on Borkener Kirchplatz in the direction of Mühlenstraße. Visitors are invited to enjoy a good glass of wine in a convivial atmosphere. From 12:00 to 18:00, there will also be quiche, onion tart and antipasti to complement the wine. As the wine as a beverage should be the centre of attention, only water will be available for purchase. Admission is free.
