The Haltern Lake Tour

A special day tip for cyclists is the lake tour in the naturally beautiful Haltern am See, which follows circuit 169. Passing field and meadow landscape, the route first leads to Silbersee III, which was renaturalised after being sanded out and is now used for quiet recreation.

A detour to Silbersee II, probably the longest inland sandy beach in Germany, is worthwhile for all beach fans. This is where the holiday flair comes in! The tour continues through the tranquil Linnert forest area, to Sythen Castle and the water mill in Sythen. Following the Mühlenbach stream, the Haltern reservoir is not far away. In addition to a wide range of water sports, the lakeside resort with its natural sandy beach offers relaxation and recreation. A visit to the old town, which exudes a historical ambience, is also recommended.
