The finissage of the summer exhibition "[intimacy] - Of People and Places" will be accompanied by a special supporting programme that will once again address the themes of the exhibition and also invite visitors to enjoy and exchange ideas at a summer festival. With art activities by Samuel Treindl and Franziska Windisch, an exclusive guided tour by the curators and a concert by Dutch pianist, singer and composer Lis Bad.
For the 7th time, the international woodwind festival Summerwinds Münsterland attracts visitors to attractive venues in the region with a top-class music programme. Baroque meets folk as part of the Gravenhorst concert evening: the ensemble I Zefirelli from Hamburg dedicates itself to pieces by the composer Georg Philipp Telemann (1681 - 1767) and his contemporaries.
Telemann once found pure inspiration in the pubs of Krakow and Pless. He found "thoughts for a lifetime" in the folk music played there and was one of the first to fuse popular music, folklore and serious music. The combination of noblesse and elegance, paired with influences of "barbaric beauty", is what makes the pieces that I Zefirelli has selected from his compositions so charming. Played with the skill and knowledge of today, his pieces sound fresh and new - as do the selected works of his contemporary colleagues and humorous folk songs from the past. Early music of today, with an ensemble that has won prizes in various competitions and the coveted European EEEMERGING+ funding programme.

Numerous historical sites across Germany open their doors on Open Monument Day and delight the public with exclusive programme highlights.
On this day, the DA, Kunsthaus Kloster Gravenhorst first invites you to the finissage of this year's historical presentation "ZISTERZIENSERINNEN. The Gravenhorst Convent 1256 - 1808". To mark the 20th anniversary of the Kunsthaus, the exhibition is dedicated to the rich history of the local Cistercian nuns. Over the centuries, the nuns managed to keep their community together in changing times. At the end of the exhibition, visitors interested in history can listen to an exciting lecture by Dr Uta C. Schmidt, curator of the exhibition, and travel back in time to the convent with the help of numerous texts, pictures, videos and original objects.
As part of the nationwide documentary film festival LETsDOK, the DA, Kunsthaus will then show the film "Walchensee Forever". In this film, director Janna Ji Wonders tells the story of her family from the women's perspective in an impressive way. The result is an exciting journey of discovery that provides an extraordinary view of several generations. In keeping with the anniversary theme of the DA, Kunsthaus, it deals with questions of identity, home and self-realisation, but also the search for love, life and death - in other words, the cycle of life. An accompanying panel discussion invites dialogue and exchange on the film's themes.
From 12 to 15 September, the German Youth Championships (DJM) in dressage and show jumping will be held at Riesenbeck International.
The September Sounds promise an impressive concert experience once again this year. Scholarship holders from the renowned Werner Richard - Dr Carl Dörken Foundation will perform a mixture of traditional and modern pieces, similar to the New Year's Concert.
The event will be hosted by Stefan Keim. Further information on the programme and advance booking will follow.
