Cycle Tour - Monastery, Canal and Cliffs

The Ibbenbürener Radelrunde takes you on the Münsterland cycling region's circuit 10 on mainly flat, often asphalted paths past fields and meadows and along the Ibbenbürener Aa river.

On your tour you will first pass Gravenhorst Monastery andlater Surenburg Castle. While you can also experience the DA, art monastery Gravenhorst from the inside, you should only admire Surenburg Castle from a distance, as it is a private estate.

Continue along the Dortmund-Ems Canal with a view of the westernmost part of the Teutoburg Forest. Close to the canal, the Loismann Botanical Garden and NaturaGart, a 40,000 square metre garden and diving paradise, are worth a visit.

The crossing of the "Teuto" requires a bit of fitness. If you plan a short hike, you will be rewarded with an incredible view over the Münsterland at the striking rock formation "Dörenther Klippen". Then it's downhill again and back to Ibbenbüren.

Families with children should definitely plan a detour to the summer toboggan run amusement park.
