Ladbergen

Mountain and valley

This cycle tour starts in the centre of Ladbergen. There is a lot to discover here: In addition to the museum of local history, which is well worth a visit, there is the lovingly restored shoemaker's museum. It shows not only the shoemaker's craft but also shoe fashion through the ages. The centre of Ladbergen, characterised by black and white half-timbered houses, offers rustic pubs, cafés and restaurants to linger in.

The route then takes you past Tecklenburg in the direction of Lengerich. You will reach the town after only a few kilometres. The town centre is formed by the Protestant town church from 1947 with the neighbouring Römer. This old churchyard gate from the 13th century is the town's landmark. Today there is a restaurant in the old walls, which have also served as a town hall, a prison and a classroom in the past.

The tour then continues through the hilly Holperdorper Tal, one of the most beautiful valleys in the Teutoburg Forest, to Lienen. There, the barefoot park offers an experience for all the senses. On a circular path of 2.5 km, you walk over gravel, sand or bark, but also through water and a mud pool. A great water playground also awaits the little visitors. In the immediate vicinity is the village pond, which, together with the lovingly restored half-timbered houses and the winding cobblestone streets, characterises the appearance of the state-recognised resort town of Lienen.

The last section of the route takes you past the Heckentheater Kattenvenne and back to Ladbergen.
