Lotte

Lotte - a great place to live! This is the motto of the attractive municipality between the foothills of the Teutoburg Forest and the Wiehengebirge. Rural and manageable, yet dynamic and modern - and surrounded by greenery.

The Münsterland out of a picture book

Extensive woodlands in a varied landscape or the romantic course of the Goldbach, Düte and Hase rivers invite you to go hiking, Nordic walking and cycling. The gently rolling, wooded landscape, characterised by meadows and fields, is particularly attractive for leisure activities. The Large and Small Sloop Stones tell stories that go back to the Stone Age prehistory of mankind. Churches, mills and old farmsteads complete the picture of a cultural landscape to feel good in.

History is visible in Lotte

History can be experienced at every turn in Lotte. Situated on the former border between the county of Tecklenburg and the prince-bishopric of Osnabrück, Lotte can look back on an eventful history. The 14th-century Lotte Parish Church with its leaning tower, the "Old Customs House" and the three water mills in the dune landscape are just a few witnesses to past times that are still worth visiting today.

Great excursions around Lotte

You should take some time to discover the surroundings around Lotte. The picturesque town of Tecklenburg on the edge of the Tecklenburger Land is just as worth seeing as the Dörenther Cliffs near Ibbenbüren. Of course, a visit to the city of Osnabrück should not be missing from the programme.
