Close to its Dutch neighbours and not far from Münster and Steinfurt: the municipality of Nordwalde is the ideal starting point for excursions and cycling tours.
But Nordwalde itself also has a lot to offer leisure and culture enthusiasts, for example the medieval Bispinghof. It was once the bishop's farm and was built on several islands surrounded by moats. Even today, you can access the former farm through the gatehouse, where visitors can take a stroll. Also worth seeing is the former manor "Haus Althaus", the remains of which are more than impressive. Not least thanks to the integrative bridle path, the charms of the countryside around Nordwalde really open up to everyone.
Nordwalde's location is a real plus for a Münsterland holiday. The sights of Münster, such as the Prinzipalmarkt or the Erbdrostenhof, are only a few kilometres away. In Steinfurt, too, extraordinary sights await you with the old town and the castle. The Rieselfelder (sewage fields) attract numerous nature lovers to the nature reserve between Münster and Greven every year.
