Ochtrup

Discover the pottery, textile and shopping town of Ochtrup: Situated in the direct vicinity of the Netherlands and surrounded by the Münsterland park landscape, the small town is virtually ideal for extended cycle tours, holidays in the countryside or eventful day trips.

The town of Ochtrup with its two districts of Langenhorst and Welbergen is characterised by its historical roots: Contemporary witnesses to this are the Langenhorst Abbey, the Bergwindmühle, the Pottery Museum and the impressive Beltman Building of the former textile company Gebr. Laurenz, which now houses the Designer Outlet.

Haus Welbergen - a jewel in Münsterland

A special experience and an absolute must in Ochtrup is a visit to the moated castle Haus Welbergen. Hidden in a small wood, one of the most beautiful castles in Münsterland awaits. The small park is just as enchanting as the castle itself. The Designer Outlet Ochtrup is also a real visitor magnet. Numerous shops of many well-known brands and several restaurants are spread over the beautifully designed grounds, which are suitably decorated for every season.

Wide open country full of highlights

Cyclists who prefer it flat are in good hands in Ochtrup. Several cycle paths lead in all directions: Gronau and the rock'n'pop museum, Burgsteinfurt with its beautiful Bagno Park, the old town and the moated castle or the mighty Bentheim Castle are not to be missed on a cycling tour.
