Events in Recke
Recke is sporty and tradition-conscious. The Easter Run and the Steinbeck Triathlon attract numerous athletes and spectators to the northern Münsterland every year. Families feel particularly at home at the Hollandmarkt and the Spring Festival. In addition, the events of the local history society, for example on Mill Day, enrich Recke's calendar of events.
If you want to see more events, also from the surrounding area, simply change the radius or expand the search date.
To mark Open Monument Day, the Recke Heritage Society invites you to a potato festival at and in the Alte Ruthemühle in Recke. Spinning and weaving will be demonstrated in the local heritage centre, just as it used to be in every good parlour. The members of the leprosy handicraft group will be selling their home-made products such as socks, scarves and hats. Of course, the café in the Ruthemühle is also open - here visitors can fortify themselves with coffee and cake or sultana bread. The Recke folk dance group will also be performing various old German dances. Laundry washing - not as convenient one hundred years ago as it is today - is presented by the youth group of the local history association. The name says it all - of course the potato pancakes are a must. Another highlight is the home-baked bread from the bakery at the Ruthemühle, which is in particularly high demand.

Three lively and cheerful days at the fair in Recke. The popular parish fair is one of the most traditional folk festivals in the Tecklenburger Land region and stands for traditional cosiness every year.
The funfair kicks off on Saturday at 4 pm with the tapping of the barrel by Mayor Peter Vos on the market square, accompanied by music. There will also be live music in the large marquee by the indoor swimming pool and on the C&C stage. The fair Sunday is heralded by a morning pint in the marquee and at the town hall.
There's also a lot going on at the end of the fair on Monday. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. there is a family morning with reduced admission prices, and after dark the big fireworks display. With the fireworks, the showmen in Recke say thank you and goodbye for three wonderful days at the fair. Afterwards, there is one last opportunity to get a taste of the fairground air as the fair draws to a close. On the fairgrounds at the town hall and in the town centre, the showmen, fairground rides and festival chefs set the scene.

Guided hike organised by Touristik Recke e.V. on the Teutoschleifchen Steinbecker Runde.
There is a lot to discover on this varied hike: the tour leads through the Buchholzer Forst up to the viewing tower, past the Marina Recke marina with café, along the Mittelland Canal and through the charming centre of Steinbeck.
