Rheine

Animal action - this motto applies to the Ems city of Rheine not only because of its popular nature zoo. Rheine also offers you many opportunities to live out your adventurous spirit away from the beautifully designed zoo.

Bentlage Triad - Bentlage Monastery, Forest and Salt Works

In the Bentlage recreation area, the Bentlage Monastery, home of the European Fairy Tale Society, the Bentlage Forest and the Gottesgabe Salt Works form the "Bentlager Dreiklang" (Bentlager triad). You should not miss a walk from the salt works to the monastery. Perhaps you will meet one of the beautiful storks that can be seen in the meadows.

Rheine - Ems Town with History

The half-timbered farm Hof Pöpping in Rheine-Elte with its historic collection of ancient walls worthy of preservation is also a nice destination for an excursion. The Apothecary Museum on the historic market square and the Falkenhof Museum in the town centre also take you back into the past.

Being active is very important in Rheine

In the here and now you can hone your swing at the "Gut Winterbrock" golf course in Rheine-Mesum. Fancy a bike tour? You can choose from numerous themed routes such as the Ems Cycle Route or the 100 Castles Route. By canoe you will find your ideal spot on the leisurely and beautiful Ems.
