Steinfurt's calendar of events has some highlights to offer. Whether on the market square in Burgsteinfurt or in the town centre of Borghorst - there is almost always a reason to celebrate in Steinfurt. At the Gourmetmacht fine food is served, as well as at the Wine and Brew Festival. At the Harvest Festival Market and the popular Pig Market, the focus is on regional specialities and family fun. The Concert Gallery in Steinfurt's Bagno offers a cultural programme in a class of its own. Not to be forgotten, of course, is the Bagno Soundgarden! Enjoy the unique atmosphere!

"Total Tonal" under the direction of Jörg Hilpert is a perennial favourite in the region's choir scene. The a cappella ensemble from Steinfurt and Münster has been around for more than 30 years. The experienced musicians have developed a large repertoire, which includes classics such as "Lady Madonna" by the Beatles and "Can you feel the love tonight" from the musical "The Lion King". But titles such as "Land unter" by Herbert Grönemeyer or "Jolene" by Dolly Parton are also brought to life in fresh arrangements without instruments. The audience can look forward to music that is moving and a lot of fun.

The former market place was located at the entrance to the moated castle (1129), today still the residence of the princely family of Bentheim and Steinfurt. Today's old town of Burgsteinfurt developed from this core. The simpler half-timbered houses of the peasants, the larger ones of the merchants, but above all the splendid stone houses of the count's officials are examples of medieval architecture worth seeing. The centre of the historic town centre is the town hall (1561), with its finely designed gable. Burgsteinfurt's market square reflects two epochs in the town's history, as probably nowhere else in the Münsterland. The time of urban unfreedom under the count of Burgsteinfurt, who manifested his power in the construction of the wine house at Markt 19; on the other hand, the self-confidence of the aspiring bourgeoisie, which manifests itself in the show gable of the old town hall.
