In addition to the responsible preservation of traditional horse breeding, the NRW State Stud also organises unique events such as the Warendorf Stallion Parades and thus brings the pride of the State Stud closer to all horse lovers.

This tour criss-crosses 1200 years of settlement and town history. However, there is no need to cover long distances, as the points of interest are close together. In the centre of the town, the historic town hall and the old church of St. Laurentius are right next to each other.

The names of the streets and alleyways themselves tell a story and there is something to discover and learn everywhere. The inconspicuous stone on the street corner becomes a speaking witness to the past. A journey through time that begins with the founding of the settlement on the Ems ford, continues along the cobbled streets of the old trading and Hanseatic city and ends in more recent history.

Do you enjoy cycling in a group and want to get to know new routes and people? Why not take part in our guided cycle tour and let our tour guides accompany you "with a built-in tailwind" through the Warendorf park landscape. Our tour is specially designed for participants with pedelecs and e-bikes. Pedelecs can be hired at the Warendorf cycle centre.

On the way, we will stop off at a cosy inn to fortify ourselves for the return journey.

A cycle tour with like-minded people brings a breath of fresh air into your life. Let us accompany you on your steel steed through the Warendorf parkland. Each tour includes a stop at a farmer's café or a typical regional inn. If you wish, you can fortify yourself with coffee and cake. Leisurely cycle tour accompanied by a local tour guide. The guided tour of Hans Günter Winkler's villa offers deep insights into the person and life of the most successful show jumper of all time. "HGW", as everyone reverently called him, not only meticulously collected his medals, pictures and certificates and displayed them in the rooms of the villa. He meticulously archived thousands of newspaper articles about his sporting successes and his life. Pictures of him and celebrities from business and politics are displayed everywhere and a number of hunting trophies from his travels hang on the walls.
The saddle he put on during his legendary ride on the "miracle mare" Halla at the 1956 Olympic Games in Stockholm can be admired in the hallway of the house.
