The charming municipality in the northern Münsterland lies between the foothills of the Wiehengebirge and the Teutoburg Forest and on the edge of the Terra.vita nature park. Numerous hiking and cycling trails with various lengths and degrees of difficulty invite you to explore the area.

Stones tell an ancient story

Find out more about the historic town centre with its more than 500-year-old town church or about the Sloop stones. This massive Neolithic barrow is considered the best preserved in Westphalia. From 1 April to 31 October, the Tractor Museum also opens its doors. After a varied visit, you can relax with a refreshment in the beer garden or finish off with a stroll through the shops.

On the edge of Münsterland and yet right in the middle

Whoever is on holiday in Westernkappeln should not be afraid to explore the surrounding area. The attractive city of Osnabrück is only a few kilometres away. Also easily accessible by car or bicycle is Ibbenbüren with its many attractions. Not to be forgotten is the romantic Tecklenburg on the edge of the Teutoburg Forest.
