Cycling in Wettringen
Even though there is no castle in Wettringen, the town is the perfect starting point for a castle tour. Steinfurt Castle is just as easy to reach as the romantic Haus Welbergen near Ochtrup. Bentheim Castle towers fantastically over Bad Bentheim and Bentlage Monastery in Rheine is one of the most popular excursion destinations in the Münsterland. Cyclists are therefore spoilt for choice as to which sights they should head for first. The many lakes and rivers around Wettringen, including the Haddorf Lakes and the Offlum Lake, are striking. They not only accompany many a cycle route, but also invite you to swim at their beautiful lidos. This makes every cycle tour around Wettringen a pleasure.
