Pröbsting House on the occasion of the Palaces and Castles Day

The small moated castle Haus Pröbsting is located just a few kilometres west of Borken in the farming community of Hoxfeld. The listed building, first mentioned in 1221 as a probate estate of Vreden Abbey, is a jewel
in the Münsterland park landscape. Guided by certified nature and landscape guide Doris Gausling, participants learn about the eventful history and structural development of Pröbsting House. Once a manor, then a farm and estate, later used as an educational establishment and now home to a private clinic. The tour concludes with a short nature walk along the moats around the historic complex, some of which are still preserved.
