One of the most impressive palace complexes in Westphalia, including a stately park, also known as the "Westphalian Versailles", attracts over half a million visitors every year. A special attraction is the reconstructed Venus Island. The baroque garden also impresses with its garden art, many secluded spots and numerous avenues. Nordkirchen Castle is also home to the Finance College of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
An impressive poetic performance can be marvelled at on 16 June in the park at Nordkirchen Castle: Mauro Grassi and Francesca Pellegrini perform as a carillon as a special highlight of the Palaces and Castles Day, moving as if from another world. An 18th-century mime dominates a white grand piano, accompanied by music on motorised wheels. At the same time, an aesthetic music box ballerina dances and sways gently to the melody. This unique travelling performance aims to leave a romantic memory in everyone's heart. The artists have won numerous prizes, including first place at the Venice Carnival, and have performed in 30 countries.
Experience the Westphalian Versailles on a guided tour of the palace. Walk along the paths of the 18th century and get to know the baroque art in the interiors of Nordkirchen Castle.
