Haddorf Lakes
On warm summer days, the Haddorf lakes in Wettringen are an ideal destination. The location of the lakes is a big plus point: they are nestled in the Münsterland parkland and surrounded by beautiful heathland, with the Stovern Forest next door.
An interesting fact for all history buffs: the Haddorf lakes are located on the so-called "Münsterland gravel sand train", which was formed from glacial deposits. After the extraction of gravel and sand, the quarry ponds were left behind.
A lake landscape for lots of fun
You won't get bored here: the local recreation area offers a range of sports and leisure activities. You can go fishing, sailing, surfing, swimming or simply relax on the sandy beach. There is also a mini golf course, a football pitch, a basketball court and cycling huts by the lakes. Younger guests can discover the playground for themselves.
For those who want to stay longer, the weekend cottage estate or the campsite could be just the thing. If you get hungry or thirsty, you're sure to find something tasty in the campsite bistro or lakeside café.
