Once a sand and gravel extraction area, today a relaxing spot: The Offlumer See lake in Neuenkirchen. Large parts of the area are left to nature, so that the blue of the water is surrounded by the green of the trees. If you feel like it, you can walk around the lake on a circular hiking trail (approx. 1.5 hours). You can find out interesting facts about the lake on a number of information boards along the way. With its beautiful promenade and bathing beach, it is the perfect excursion destination for tourists and locals alike - especially in summer!
Please note: Swimming is permitted on the main beach. Not on the rest of the lake, part of which is a nature reserve.
They are the landmark of Lake Offlum: the red funnel towers. From the viewing towers, you have a wonderful view over the recreational landscape - especially at sunset. Pure romance!
The Restaurant "Ewige Liebe" with a view of the lake fits in perfectly. Here you can enjoy various gastronomic offerings, from burgers and ice cream to coffee and cake.
Tip for all cyclists: The lake is located on the Radroute "Triangel". It runs along a former railway line and is therefore particularly pleasant to cycle. There is also a charging station for e-bikes at Offlumer See.
