Cycling at Ahaus Castle
The vastness of the landscape around Ahaus Castle never fails to inspire cyclists. The cycle paths extend almost entirely without ascents to the Dutch border. And that's not the end by a long shot. Haaksbergen and the beautiful city centre of Enschede are popular destinations. No less attractive are the Rock'n'Pop Museum in Gronau or the Burgmannshöfe in Heek. Nature lovers will also get their money's worth on a bike tour. The Berkel meadows and the Zwillbrocker Venn can easily be included in a cycling tour.
Ahaus Castle in the Münsterland Cycling Region
4,500 km of signposted cycle paths criss-cross the Münsterland. Ahaus Castle can also be reached via the practical junction system. With the junction system, you can easily put together your favourite route with a few numbers.

Day Tour from Ahaus Castle
Wide landscapes and valuable nature reserves are the focus of this cycle tour. The cycle tour starts at Ahaus Castle, which is well worth seeing. The cycle path leaves Ahaus in a westerly direction and reaches the fields and meadows of the western Münsterland. The stage destination is the magnificent Haarmühle inn - right on the Dutch border. Here, at the latest, there is time for an extended rest. The cycle path continues to the Lünten fish ponds. In the past, intensive fish farming characterised the waters. Today it is a sensitive ecosystem that has many surprises in store for nature lovers. The "Schwattet Gatt" nature reserve is one of the most bilogically valuable wet heaths in NRW.
