Open air stage Werne

Children love the open-air theatre in Werne. No wonder, because the open-air theatre in Werne has specialised in children's theatre since 1987. Every year, loving productions delight the audience. The long-running theatre can already look back on over 500 successful performances in children's theatre.

The open-air theatre in Werne seats 1100 young and old guests.

The open-air theatre Werne is idyllically situated in the middle of the city park of Werne in the southern Münsterland. It can be easily reached via the Bundesstraße 233 and offers space for 1,100 visitors. The stepped semicircle guarantees a good view from all seats. The stage is not roofed, but performances take place in (almost) all weathers.

In Werne, participation is encouraged

The open-air stage in Werne is not just "theatre". The audience itself becomes part of the performance and is included in the plays. Great fun for everyone! The passionate actors and actresses are as diverse as the audience. It can happen that three generations are on stage at the same time.

Programme

The complete programme of the Freilichtbühne Werne can be found on their website. Tickets can be ordered and paid for conveniently online, at the box office or at the advance booking offices Tourist-Info Werne (Markt 19) and Tourist-Information Nordkirchen (Schloßstraße 11).

Open-air stage with a long tradition

The open-air stage Werne has existed since 1959 and is thus a firm institution in the cultural landscape of the city. Especially today, in our digitalised times, the open-air stage Werne offers handmade entertainment for the whole family. From children's plays to musicals that invite you to sing along to live concerts and even comedy shows, there is something for everyone.

But when the cold season begins, it's far from a break here. On the first weekend in Advent, the annual Advent market of the open-air stage traditionally opens. Then the clubhouse is transformed into a café and there is a large tent on the stage that invites you to linger. All this is accompanied by a colourful supporting programme. The mixture of handicrafts, Christmas gifts and loving decorations enjoys great popularity across the generations.
