The Nöttler Berg wildlife enclosure in Saerbeck is very popular with both children and adults. And rightly so! Because in addition to various walking trails in the 25-hectare forest area, 40 different species of wild animals can also be observed at close range.
Chickens, peacocks, guinea fowl and goats await you right at the entrance. As you continue on your way through the wildlife park, you will meet native species such as red deer, wild boar, sheep, horses, donkeys, alpacas, foxes and lynxes. You can also see animals such as bison, aurochs and nandus, which are not actually native to our area. Many of the animals can be petted. If you dare, you can even feed them.

The Nöttler Berg wildlife enclosure is a special experience not only because of the animals. The large playground has everything a child's heart desires: chain carousel, slide, swing, trampoline and seesaw. But there is more playground equipment scattered throughout the park. The many seating areas are ideal for a short break. While you're taking a break, you might get a visit from the free-roaming animals, including dwarf goats, chickens or a peacock. And if you want to quench your thirst for knowledge, look out for the information boards along the way.
No matter what time of year - the wildlife enclosure is always worth a visit. In spring, the forest and the animals reawaken, in summer the trees provide shade, in autumn the forest turns into a sea of colour and in winter the snow makes the outdoor enclosure glisten. The animals especially look forward to seeing you in winter too!
Tip for families: To make the visit as relaxed as possible, a handcart can be borrowed at the entrance to stow the luggage and give the smallest guests a break in between.
