EXPERIENCE THE GOOD
Mindful travel through the city

City experiences. enjoy urban

Münster is a city for young and old, but above all for connoisseurs: A wide range of leisure and shopping facilities as well as a lively city flair inspire just as much as the exciting cultural programme and the 1,200-year-old history of the mini-metropolis. Would you also like to fall in love with this liveable and lovable city? This is what a relaxed yet eventful day in Münster could look like:

Regional is trumps

You start with a shopping tour in the city centre and on Prinzipalmarkt. In addition to the numerous well-known fashion chains, Münster also has a large selection of concept stores and regional shops where you can get high-quality products: From delicatessen and food from the region to clothing and home accessories, you'll find a wide range of products and exciting shopping in the modern shops. In the concept stores you will also get to know regional brands in which the people of Münsterland put all their passion. The best thing about it: with your shopping you support the local economy!

Want a few ideas?

Take a look at Homebeis, for example: Here you'll find a great selection of regional products. Hella good focuses on second-hand clothing and concept stores. Schönwerk presents sustainable home accessories and if you prefer something a little more elegant, check out the Genuss Kaufhaus for delicatessen.

Time out in the green oasis

After the shopping tour, you can take a coffee break at Café Fam: a charming coffee bar in the centre of Münster. Here you can have a bite to eat and a drink and relax in a relaxed atmosphere. Look out of the window, breathe in the aroma of coffee and let the colourful hustle and bustle of the city slowly pass you by.

After a little refreshment, continue leisurely to the botanical garden opposite Münster Palace. The garden is a real treasure in the centre of Münster and is much appreciated as an oasis of peace. In addition to the 23 themed gardens, there is also the tactile and olfactory garden, the large tropical house and the orangery. The colourful flowers, the sweet scent, the bees flying around - here your senses go on a journey.

From green to blue

Now it's off to the water: the Aasee is calling. The Aaseepark was voted Germany's most beautiful park in 2008 and Europe's most beautiful park in 2009 - its 8-kilometre circular path is also perfect for walking, cycling, inline skating or jogging.

Set sail, cast off

In addition, there are exciting offers such as boat rental, a sailing school and interesting sculptures to marvel at. So grab a small sailing boat, sail around the lake, relax and soak up some sun.

Don't forget that you can also have a picnic here and enjoy the beautiful surroundings with their green spaces. This is a perfect place to unwind and enjoy life. Or you can combine both: the"Couples' Sailing" offer provides romantic rowing on a nostalgic rowing boat, including cool drinks and snacks. You can truly enjoy yourself here.

Dining with a water view

For a successful end to the day in a relaxed atmosphere, head to the harbour for the evening. Münster's city harbour has now developed into the Kreativkai: The mixture of office, art and culture is characterised by old warehouses and modern architecture. Restaurants line the path along the shore and offer a view of the water and the "B-Side" on the opposite side. As you can see, there is always a lot going on here around the clock.

Stroll along the water and breathe in the evening air. Here you can end the evening with a relaxed glass of wine. In good weather, maybe even outside with a fresh breeze blowing through your hair - what could be better?

Climate-friendly in the city

Münster's new main station is your gateway to the city. The lively university city can be reached quickly and easily from all directions by ICE, IC and regional trains. The centre of Münster is only a few minutes' walk away. The city's large bicycle station is located at the station. Here you can rent a bike and conquer the city together with countless other cyclists - real Münster flair.

If you do want to take a longer route, you can rely on Münster's well-developed bus system. The ring lines 33 and 34 go around the old town clockwise and anticlockwise and bring most of the sights close to you.
